Hailing from the twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Afrocessories was birthed from our founder's need to make her favorite protective style easier to wear.

​"I did not always have the time to wrap my hair so I created a way to look fabulous on the go! Now my days of being a lazy natural has turned into me making a fashion statement each and every time. Our AfroBonnets - which is what I call our pretied, ready-to wear turbans - are a Lifesaver!"

Convinced that her creation would work for EVERY naturalista, Marcia and her husband designed the first AfroBonnet in July 2017 and began selling it at local pop-ups in September 2017.

When they first began, the first designs were sewn by a girlfriend of the couple and featured Afrocentric fabric. Since then Marcia has taught herself to sew and the AfroBonnets have developed into many collections and designs, not including products like the AfroBand and the AfroBandeau.
